ARE YOUR MORSO SPARE PARTS GENUINE ?

Are your Morso Spare Parts Genuine?

With the influx of counterfeit goods arriving in the Uk from China, have you ever wondered about the quality of the stove spare parts you are purchasing? Morso UK have received many complaints from customers regarding the spare parts they have purchased from the internet. These spare parts are cracking and warping within weeks off them being used in their stove.

Squirrel stove spare parts are known to be the most common of the Morso products to be copied. These include those for the Squirrel 1410, Squirrel 1430 and the Squirrel 1412 multi fuel stoves.

The Squirrel riddling grate is often the most common to be returned due to part failure, warping or cracking. So how can you tell it is genuine? The genuine squirrel riddling grate will be shiny in colour a metallic grey colour as it is made of chrome iron, unlike most counterfeit parts which are made which from cast iron. They should also be stamped into the metal not raised.
The riddling grate handle will have a stamped 4 digit number, in the case of a Squirrel part this should read 2030. All Morso spare parts are stamped with a 4 digit spare part number. Each number is recognisable by the part it represents. The 4 digits should correspond to the middle 4 numbers in the part number.

The Squirrel baffle plate is another commonly copied spare part. This has been found to have the part number on but it has not been stamped into the product rather raised up on its surface. It is made of inferior quality cast iron and is not finished off properly with gaping holes and gaps in on its surface, thus not retaining the heat and losing efficiency in the stoves performance.

Fire Bricks are another most common spare part that we sell. Again they should all be stamped with the 4 digit product code. All Morso Squirrel side bricks and back bricks are made from a clay based product so they grate together like stone when rubbed against each other. They are pale yellow and heavy. All the other stoves in the Morso series such as the Owl, Panther and their more contemporary stoves such as the S1040 and the 6140 all have the lighter vermiculite bricks.

There are many types of sealing and door ropes on the market, which are available in many colours, density and thicknesses. Morso door rope is 8mm in thickness and is a soft rope. If you start putting other thicknesses in the stove door you may find that the door does not seal properly and this will cause your stove to lose its efficiency costing more money. It may even cause the stove glass to crack or break. Instead of buying glue and rope separately, Morso now supply a sealing kit to help you save money.

Morso Glass is another issue when it comes to buying it for your Morso stove. All Morso stoves take 5mm heat resistant glass. Most glass sold on the market for stoves are only 4mm thick. This can cause problems when replacing it in the stove. The glass can move in the groove and you may find that your glass breaks or cracks when fixing it in place as you tighten up the screws. Many of the contemporary stoves take curved glass and this is very difficult to obtain unless you get the authentic glass, especially if you require the 5mm thickness.

As you can see it is so important why you need to buy genuine spare parts. They not only last longer but maintain the efficiency of your stove costing you less money in the long run. Here at Bowland stoves we pride ourselves in selling genuine Morso Spare Parts.
